Marilyn's Story
Life
2007 - It's been a hectic but wonderful 49 years since graduating Weehawken Hight School. I married, had three biological and one adopted child, decided to go back to college when I was 40 yrs old and graduated from N.J. City University... or was it Jersey City State College!
I had been involved for many years in the child welfare system both as a foster parent (20 foster children in 17 yrs) and sitting on many county advisary boards,i.e., Youth Services Committee, DYFS advisary board, Child ABuse and Missing Children, and the Human Services Advisary Board.This was my motivation to go back to school.
The years were very good to me. My husband and I had a wonderful 38 years together and my children are all married and independent....

All but one of my childen and nine grandchildren live in the area with one daughter remaining in Hudson County. I continue to be involved in child welfare sitting on the Monmouth County Child Placement Review Board reviewing cases with the courts of children who had been removed from their home because of abuse and neglect.
I've renewed my interest in the art world and take art classes that I am thoroughly enjoying. The only problem I have encountered is I don't have enough wall space to hang all the art work..... Oh yes,,,, before I forget... I also started dating and it has been quite an experience the second time around..... I have learne two things since I've reentered the dating scene after reaching 60 yrs old:1.Never look at yourself naked in the mirror and 2. Never.... Never ever wear a thong.
